Great little restaurant that I stopped by after my camping trip at Ricketts Glenn. Service was very friendly and warm . Definitely a family type and neighboring type feel with an extensive menu. I enjoyed the western omelette with home fries and coffee. I'll definitely stop at this spot again. Thank you for the hospitality

Five star for the price. Yes there are better places to eat. But for a reasonable price they get the job done. Try the bbq burger or the poached haddock dinner. Great breakfast too. Place is fairly clean. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Try the banana pancakes. Service is fast when they're not slammed. Expect a wait on Sunday.

Great home style food. My wife and I stopped in after a grueling hike in Rickett's Glen and it really hit the spot. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next day.

Good food and fast service in a family atmosphere. I have a hunting property in the area and can't wait to get out of my stand and eat a hearty home cooked meal.

We stumbled upon this place after a hike in the nearby Ricketts Glen State Park (which is lovely, by the way). The restaurant is a cozy, home-y seeming place with an old American vibe on the inside. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and the service was great. As far as the food goes, prices were reasonable and the menu had your typical American diner fare including an expansive breakfast menu (waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausages, etc.) and burgers. Looked like the dinner menu had some steak and pasta options as well. We were there for brunch and ordered a mix of pancakes, breakfast skillets, and burgers (which were touted to us as being voted the "best in the back mountain"). Overall, the food was decent with big portion sizes that were perfect for a post-hike meal. The pancakes were definitely the highlight of the meal (they have a ton of options of which we got the pumpkin crunch). The burger looked great but ultimately was not super impressive. The skillet was your typical heart-y mix of potatoes, eggs, and sausage. Overall, a good value for a good amount of food for a post-hike.

Nestled in the countryside, Red Rooster is the perfect little local spot to stop during a Sunday drive, or after a long weekend camping in the woods. I love anything that has a dedicated theme, and Red Rooster does not disappoint. The interior is a menagerie of mismatched (yet somehow matching) kitschy retro decor. From the green vinyl booths, wallpaper, and countless chickens, Red Rooster is a testament to delightful maximalism. Their menu often will leave you wondering if it would be "too much" to order more than one breakfast offering. You will find yourself immediately drawn to the pancakes, but torn on everything else. Just get it all. It's all delicious. Turn your table into a rooster-themed bacchanal of pancake splendor. You won't regret it.

We've been in the area for 8-9 years and never got a chance to go to Red Rooster. Food was surprisingly good, especially Southern eggs Benedict. I think that's what it's called. Sausage gravy and eggs and biscuits, which was really good. We also got the country style scrambled skillet. The house potato's were made well. Cooked, Crunchy, and not burnt! Apparently this is a hard thing to do for most diners I've been to lately buy red rooster did it right.
